About Small Biz Security
Our Mission
Most cybersecurity advice is written for Fortune 500 companies with dedicated IT departments and six-figure security budgets. Small business owners — the people who run your local café, accounting firm, dental practice, or e-commerce store — are left with either overpriced enterprise tools or nothing at all.
Small Biz Security exists to close that gap. We provide free, practical cybersecurity tools and guides written specifically for small business owners who do not have a technical background.
What We Offer
- Free Interactive Tools: Security assessments, password checkers, and tool comparison engines — no sign-up, no email collection, no catch.
- Plain-English Guides: Step-by-step articles that explain cybersecurity concepts without jargon. If your grandmother would not understand it, we rewrite it.
- Honest Tool Recommendations: We focus on free and affordable tools that actually work for small businesses. We are not affiliated with any vendors — our recommendations are based on research and hands-on testing.
Who We Are
Small Biz Security is run by a team of security professionals and small business advocates who believe that basic cybersecurity should be accessible to everyone. We have worked with businesses of all sizes and have seen firsthand how a few simple steps can prevent the vast majority of attacks.
We are not selling anything. The tools on this site are free. The guides are free. Our revenue comes from advertising (Google AdSense) — which means our content remains free for you, always.
Our Approach to Content
Every article and tool on this site is created with a real small business owner in mind. We test every tool we recommend. We verify every statistic we cite. We update our content regularly to reflect the changing threat landscape.
We believe in transparency, accuracy, and practicality. If something does not work for a business with 5 employees and a limited budget, we do not recommend it.
